Work Without Barriers Job Expo by Fitzroy Legal Service
Event description
Are you a woman or gender-diverse person who has faced barriers to employment because of experiences like incarceration, homelessness, family violence or mental health issues?Â
Would you like to learn more about how to find meaningful employment that values you and your experiences? Then the Work Without Barriers Job Expo is for you!
Fitzroy Legal Service's Work Without Barriers is hosting a community job expo this May. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from others with lived and living experience who are now working in the community sector, where you'll have the chance to learn about their roles and the pathways.
We will have stalls for you to visit, from family violence organisations, housing, mental health, alcohol, drug and community legal services, who will all have information on exciting employment opportunities and how lived and living experience and peer work roles have contributed to their services.
There will also be stalls from employment support services who can provide guidance on job hunting, resume/cover letter writing and information on employment law. Please get in touch at eleanor@socialchangeprojects.com.au if you have any questions.
Special thanks to the Department of Premier and Cabinets, Office for Women, for funding this important event. We hope to see you there!Â
