#work_out_loud Relational Systemic Design
Event description
Relationality in Systemic Design
This #work_out_loud brings together a troupe of Australian-based systems/design practitioners fresh from RSD14 in Toronto to unpack insights on relationality in complexity, and explore what this means for evolving systemic design practice here at home.
At RSD14, the global design community is gathering around a pivotal question: how do we understand and design for relationality in complex adaptive systems? From research outcomes to practical interventions, the Systemic Design Association’s symposium explores pathways for systemic design thinking that acknowledge the intricate webs of connection that shape our world.
Now, we’re bringing snippets of those conversations home. This session is a space to digest, reflect and build on what emerged, considering how these insights might land within Australia's own dynamic design ecosystem.
The conversation will weave together perspectives from around the world with the realities of designing for change in Australian contexts. If you're working in human-centred or service design, systems change, social innovation, public sector innovation, community engagement, or trying to navigate complexity with more nuance and care, this is a chance to learn from international practice whilst grounding insights in our own design challenges and opportunities.
