Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED)

A quick changeover methodology developed by Shigeo Shingo of Toyota over 50 years ago that is still applicable today.

This is a tool that should be in every leaders toolbox if they are responsible for productivity and customer satisfaction improvements.

In this working group we will break down the elements, discuss the best approaches to apply the steps and also what challenges we may face in applying this approach with our teams.

We can share successes and challenges we have faced.

Also, important when having any tool at our fingertips is to know when and where to use and when and where to not use. This will take us into a discussion around our value stream and TOC.

Our events are an excellent forum for networking and engaging in 'peer to peer' learning with other members. To get the most out of the event you need to attend the event with a willingness to contribute to group discussions.

Who should attend?
This event is ideal for CI Leaders and Operations professionals.

As a member of IPA you can register up to 2 people, subject to availability, to attend this event. This event is for IPA members only, there will be no public access to this event.

When do I need to register by?
Registrations close 7 days prior to event date.
Registrations are based on a "first come, first served" basis.
There are no allocated seats with membership.
