This workshop series is co-designed, developed and delivered with women with disability. It is targeted to people who work in the sexual assault, women’s health and wellbeing and domestic and family violence workforce.

The aim of the ‘Working well with Women with Disability’ series is to build confidence, knowledge, and skills to work well with people with disability experiencing sexual, domestic, or family violence. It also provides information about where and how to access additional resources to support this work and good practice examples. At an organisational level the series explores what it means to provide a service that is accessible, welcoming, and inclusive to people with disability.

We invite you to join us for the whole series of workshops as each session will build on from the previous workshop’s learning, or just the ones of interest to you. Handouts and resources from each workshop will be made available to participants including those unable to attend all.

After all workshops have been completed videos will be created and resources developed that will be online and freely accessible to all. Your participation will help us to shape these to meet the needs of the sexual assault, women’s health and wellbeing and domestic and family violence workforce.

This series is created by WWILD and QDN in partnership with WorkUP Queensland. *As this series is co-designed with women with disability there may be adjustments to learning outcomes.

Workshop 3: Good Practice in working with women with disability

This workshop we will deep dive into best practice when working with women with disabilities. This session will give practical tips and share experiences from women with a lived experience of gendered violence. This workshop will provide information on navigating disability services to support effective responses for women with disability who experience gendered violence.

Tips of ensuring physical accessibility to workplaces
Tips to ensure your organisation can be easily identified by women with disability as being accessible

Advice and shared experiences from women with disability

Anyone working in the domestic and family violence, women’s health and wellbeing and sexual assault sector will find this workshop series beneficial.
