    Event description

Join artist Mariana del Castillo and stimulate your love of the natural world. Inspired by Naturalist Ernest Haeckel you will create a deeper connection to the beauty of limpet shells with their intricate designs and the stories they carry from the ocean.

In this workshop you will create your own handmade textile books using a simple Japanese binding technique and incorporate geometric designs also favoured by the Art Nouveau movement. Each page will engage with slow stitching, textile collage, colour, texture, and composition.
