Memoir writing appeals to those who want to record their family’s history for future generations.

But going a step further and psychologically analysing the story of your life can have surprising benefits, including:

• Making peace with traumas of the past, 
• Increased self-awareness and insight,
• Learning valuable lessons about life, and
• Planning for the years ahead.

In this 90-minute practical workshop, Peter will describe the benefits of writing a psychological memoir, and provide hands-on techniques, based on his 2022 book, "If I Were You – A Psychologist Puts Himself on the Couch".

By the end of this workshop, participants will have the motivation, skills and a plan to tackle their own memoir project.

ABOUT PETER QUARRY:  Peter Quarry is a Melbourne-based psychologist. For over 40 years, he produced materials aimed at helping people live, love and work effectively.  He conducted seminars, gave talks, and produced and presented training videos used in 20 countries – he’s even been a TV psychologist for 7 years (on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton). More recently, he penned his own self-help book, If I Were You – A Psychologist Puts Himself on the Couch. His feature articles appear regularly in the Australian Financial Review.
