No previous experience is required, and all materials will be provided.

Join artist Paloma Vianey for a hands-on watercolor workshop inspired by her current exhibition at the Mexican Cultural Institute. Through an introduction to color theory and monochromatic painting techniques, participants will explore how color can evoke memory, place, and emotion.

Drawing inspiration from the artist’s exploration of visual connections between Ciudad Juárez and Washington, DC, participants will create their own pair of monochromatic diptychs based on places, memories, or landscapes that are meaningful to them, while learning the fundamentals of watercolor painting.

Date: Saturday, July 11
Time: 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM
Location: Mexican Cultural Institute

Language: The workshop will be conducted in English
