Craft Week Workshop: Monoprinting & Bookbinding
Event description
Join emerging artist, Millie Mitchell, in a monotype and bookbinding workshop. Participants will experiment and play with a range of monotype techniques to create textural and dynamic prints. Participants will then be guided through the process of Japanese stab bookbinding to turn the collection of prints into an artist book.
MAG&M is pleased to be partnering with the Warringah Printmakers Studio to present this special workshop celebrating the art and craft of printmaking. One year’s Studio Membership is included in the ticket price.
Presented as part of Craft Week 2024, the workshop be held at the Warringah Printmakers Studio.
No prior experience necessary and materials and light refreshments are included. Please bring your own apron.
About Millie Mitchell
Millie Mitchell is an emerging artist currently working across lands of the Eora Nation. She currently works as a Printmaking Technical Officer and Academic at UNSW Art & Design. Mitchell has been exhibiting since 2017, including her recent solo exhibition, ‘I am home’ (2024) at Brunswick Street Gallery, Melbourne. She is a regular finalist in awards and prizes,
including the Small Works Prize (2023) and Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Awards (2021), and is an artist-in-residence at Gallery Lane Cove (2024-2025). Mitchell is also a Co-founder, Curator and Operations Coordinator for More Than Reproduction, an artist-run initiative promoting women in printmaking.
