About the workshop: 

Have you ever wanted to try the pottery wheel? Our master ceramicist Stephanie Outridge Field will show you all you need to know to get you started on your journey. Your instructor will start off with some demonstrations then it's time to get dirty! Stephanie will be there to guide, demonstrate and walk you through the process to find your inner Demi Moore. The best part? You'll take home one or two vessels of your own creation! 

Included in workshop ticket:

  • Learning new skills including clay prep, hand wedging, centering, pulling up walls and shaping cup and bowl forms
  • All tools necessary
  • Light refreshments
  • Finished creations ready for pick up 2 weeks after workshop

  • Closed in shoes
  • Old towel
  • Clothes that can get messy OR an apron

Glazing is available at an extra cost after the first firing at a future date.

About the facilitator: 

Stephanie Outridge Field is a ceramic and multimedia artist with over thirty years professional studio and exhibition practice ranging from commissioned design development to the creation of large-scale sculptural statements for installation in major commercial and public precincts.

Stephanie has been working in the contemporary ceramics field for over 30 years. Since graduating with both undergraduate and post graduate degrees from Sydney College of the Arts in 1980 she has been committed to her ceramics practice by exhibiting in both group and solo shows in Australia and New Zealand. She has established a community ceramics workshop designing and fabricating public ceramics for corporate and government clients; been proactive in ceramics education and training in Qld and been a contributing writer to national and international publications.


COVID-Safe Policy:

Please be assured artisan has well considered COVID-safe protocols regarding our workshop programming. You will be offered socially distanced seating, access to your own PPE sanitation options at your workspace, and a large extremely well-ventilated workshop venue.

Workshop Cancellation Policy:

Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.

Participant Cancellation Policy:

Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator. Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted. Bookings cancelled within a week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded.

Workshop Transfer Policy:

You may transfer your booking into an alternative workshop up to one week prior to the start of the workshop. Any difference in cost will be charged accordingly. Please endeavor to complete any transfers at least one week prior to the workshop. You are also welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement in writing to programs@artisan.org.au.
