Cost: $120 per person, limited to 10 places

Skill Level: This workshop is suitable for beginners to intermediate

About the workshop: 

Professional images of your work are essential to promote your practice as an artist and secure exhibitions, grants, and other professional opportunities. This 2.5 hours workshop will teach the basic techniques you need to take professional photographs of your 2D and 3D artworks on smartphones and/or advanced digital cameras.  The course will introduce essential equipment such as cameras, tripods and studio lighting, practice their use, and discuss the individual set up you need to document the beautiful objects you create.


Included in workshop ticket:

- Studio lighting required to take professional photographs of your work.

- The opportunity to gain practical knowledge to further your career as an artist.

- Light refreshments.

What to bring: 

- Your camera (DSLR or similar recommended)

- Tripod (if available).

- A few examples of your work.

- Closed in shoes.


About Joachim Froese:

Joachim Froese is an art photographer living and working in Brisbane and Berlin who has exhibited widely across Australia, Europe, Asia and North America. His work is included in numerous public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, and the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art.

Joachim is an experienced teacher who has taught photography at universities, high schools, and community events.

Please be assured artisan has well considered COVID-safe protocols regarding our workshop programming. You will be offered socially distanced seating, access to your own PPE sanitation options at your workspace, and a large extremely well-ventilated workshop venue.

Workshop Cancellation Policy:

Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.

Participant Cancellation Policy:

Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator. Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted. Bookings cancelled within a week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded. Refunds are to be processed by the attendee through Humanitix booking. 

Workshop Transfer Policy:

You may transfer your booking into an alternative workshop up to one week prior to the start of the workshop. Any difference in cost will be charged accordingly. Please endeavour to complete any transfers at least one week prior to the workshop.

You are also welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement in writing to workshop@artisan.org.au.
