Event description
In this needle felting workshop, participants will sculpt a Superb Fairy Wren. During the workshop the right wools, needles and tools will be introduced for this project and future works. Different skills and techniques will be discussed so that participants have ideas to make more creations.
Starting with a wire armature we will use Aussie core wool to shape the wren. Then NZ corriedale wools will be layered onto the core wool to bring in beautiful soft colours. The wren will have glass eyes to really bring it to life.
This 3 hour workshop will start at 9:00am sharp and finish at 12 noon. All materials and tools will be provided. Participants will take home one Superb Fairy Wren.
The cost of the workshop is $95.00 including GST. Lunch, coffee and other refreshments will be available for purchase from the Flaxton Gardens café and restaurant.
The workshop will take place in view of the public as part of the many activities associated with Sculpture on the Edge 2023.
Workshop ticket includes entry to the competition exhibition.
