Workshop: Translating Creativity Into Paying Your Way
Event description
Translating your creative love into paying your way
You might dream of the day where you can work from home as a creative for a living – but, how green will the grass really be? Writer, freelancer and freelance advocate Rebekah Lambert takes you through an interactive test workshop in order to see how your creative freelancing dream might meet reality. In this special session, you’ll look at:
- Assessing the commercial value of your creative skills
- How to place a safety fence around your creative work
- The impact clients can have on your creative courage
- How to separate the commercial from the creative effectively
- The demands of freelance life
This is a two hour workshop, please come prepared for hands on work.
Rebekah Lambert is a SCWC/Wollongong Botanic Garden Writer in Residence, and makes her living through encouraging freelancers that stress has a productivity cost and that mental health comes first through distinct narrative prose and marketing meanders. She is a content marketing freelancer and community and culture specialist by trade and a freelance advocate in her (somewhat mythical) spare time. As founder of Unashamedly Creative, Rebekah helps businesses large and small create communities of adoring customers through great communication and well-designed culture. As the founder of The Freelance Jungle, she spreads a message of community support and stress reduction through focusing on ending the isolation inherent in sole employment, raising the knowledge bar, and sharing support.
This workshop is presented in partnership between the South Coast Writers Centre and Wollongong Botanic Garden.
