Workshops 2024 - Friday 29 November - David Bongiorno - Life Drawing

Learn the key to confident accuracy in your life drawings through a variety of block in techniques, artistic anatomy, the correct sequence for drawing the human form and much more.

A course designed for the emerging artist wanting clarity and direction for their life drawing practice.

Learn a broad range of techniques amassed over years of research and study in this 2 day intensive workshop designed for anyone with a love of drawing.

David developed this course as a response to his own search for reliable techniques to accelerate and advance his life drawing practice. When used in different combinations, these techniques will give you the foundational skills needed to tackle any pose with confidence.

These transferable skills can be used to investigate anything you want to draw, using timeless and proven techniques that will improve your draftsmanship.

A life model will be present. Easels, drawing boards and clips will be provided. 

Materials and Equipment

David recommends purchasing your materials from James Frames in Maleny, or Art School Co in Buderim, as they are aware of the correct materials needed for this course.

-6B Woodless Graphite Pencil
-2 Sticks Willow Charcoal (not too thin)
-1 Stick ES (Extra Soft) Compressed Charcoal (Faber Castell is a good brand readily available)
-A2 Newsprint Pad (Reeves is a common brand readily available)

Materials should cost about $30-$40.

Bookings close midnight Friday 15 November. The workshop may be cancelled or postponed if there are insufficient participants (or unforeseen circumstances).
· Cancellations made by the participant 30 days or more prior to the workshop date will receive a 90% refund. Can be self-initiated online by the participant. 
· Cancellations made by the participant 2-4 weeks prior to the workshop date will be refunded 50% of the full workshop cost. Contact the Host.
