Join us to celebrate World Bipolar Day 2025 fundraiser, a cocktail event with canapes, beverages, inspiring speakers, live auction, raffles, and a "Blow Bubbles for Bipolar" group photo (bubble blowers supplied!)

Inspiring Guest Speakers
Tim Heffernan is the Lived Experience Deputy Commissioner at the Mental Health Commission of NSW. He is an experienced Consumer Peer Worker and is current Chair of Being (NSW Consumer Advisory Group). An award-winning poet, he has published widely and performed his poetry at the Wollongong Writers Festival, the Queensland Poetry Festival, the Big Anxiety Festival and at Mad Pride. Tim was awarded the Joanne Burns prose poetry and micro fiction prize in 2016.
Alice Martin is a dedicated mental health advocate with a rich background in psychology and education, currently studying a Masters of Clinical Psychology in Sydney. Alice's advocacy is deeply informed by her personal experience with bipolar disorder, which she was diagnosed with after episodes of depression and mania. This personal journey drives her commitment to promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma, particularly among young people
Sarah Martin is a perioperative nurse, carer peer worker, and mental health advocate. She is also a peer ambassador for Sane Australia. Sarah's first book, Dear Psychosis, is a narrative nonfiction work that includes contributions from Alice Martin and Jesse Martin. The book explores mental health issues such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, and depression through the eyes of a family. Sarah will be generously donating $10, from each sale of her book on the night to Bipolar Australia.
Prof. Sue Cotton is a registered psychologist (trained in neuropsychology) and a consultant biostatistician and is based in the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University and Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health. She currently leads the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Bipolar Disorders (CORE-BD), which brings together a world-class multidisciplinary team and diverse range of stakeholders to focus on research opportunities for prevention and early intervention and improving interventions for those impacted by Bipolar Disorder.
