World Cleanup Day 2021- JCI Sydney
Event description
About Us:
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global, non-profit organisation for young people to develop leadership skills, meet inspiring people and make a real impact in local communities.
We are a group of young leaders, aged 18-40, from different backgrounds, cultures and professions and for over 100 years, JCI members around the world have acted on one shared belief – the improvement of our society and environment is paramount, not just for us but also for future generations.
For more information about us and the resources we provide, please visit our website.
The Program
World Cleanup Day is one of the biggest civic movements of our time, uniting 180 countries across the world for a cleaner planet. Last year more than 11 million people in 166 countries got involved in this global initiative.
Over 5 million tonnes of packaging were used in Australia in 2018 where half were recycled after use; the remainder ended up in landfills, in our waterways and scattered across our land.
The amount of packaging and litter entering our environment has initiated our shared vision to tackle sustainability and support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of Responsible Consumption and Product Patterns.
To assist in this project, we are inviting you to come along and join our clean-up day on 14th November 2021, where we will gather as a community to help and conserve our environment.
