Join us in celebrating World Environment Day – a global call to action to protect our planet. This annual event unites millions of people from all corners of the globe to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices.

We will be celebrating World Environment Day this year at Brimbank's largest nature reserve, yaluk barring park in Keilor North, with a special Wurundjeri On Country Experience.

What to expect:

- Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony by Wurundjeri Traditional Owner Daniel Ross

- Bushfoods and Cultural history walking tour, led by Wurundjeri Traditional Owner Jack George.

- Guided Geology tour, led by Geotechnical engineer Lucas Pardo, representing the Geelong Regional Engineers Group (GREG)

Families are most welcome, children must be supervised by an adult.

Light morning tea and hot drinks provided, please bring extra snacks if needed, and a water bottle.

Accessibility: The smoking ceremony will take place in a flat area overlooking the valley, about 200m walk from the carpark area. This part of the event is accessible for people with impaired mobility. The Walking Tours will be a combined distance of about 1.5-2km return and take about 1 hour including a stop for morning tea. Some parts of the walk will be on a gravel road, other parts may be on small bush track. Some parts of the walk will be a bit steep. Please bring study walking shoes and a drink bottle.
