Description

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with us at Point Waylen and welcome some of the incredible migratory birds that travel thousands of kilometres to visit our local waterways each year.  You might spot migratory marvels including the Rainbow Bee-eater, Common Greenshank, Great Knot and the long-haul legend of the bird world, the Bar-tailed Godwit.

This is a great morning out for birdwatchers, nature photographers, families and anyone curious about the amazing birds that visit our foreshore. 

Bring your binoculars, camera, water bottle and curiosity. 

 

What’s on 

🐦 Free guided birdwatching walks, running hourly from 8:00 AM

☕ Light refreshments 

💬 Local experts and volunteer groups sharing their bird knowledge 

 

H5 bird flu reminder - if you see multiple sick or dead birds or other animals, please do not touch them or move any feathers or materials nearby. Keep your distance, record the location and what you can see, then report it to the 24-hour Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.
