World of Flight
Event description
CANCELLED/POSTPONED due to COVID-19
Engage with flight, science and technology in a fun and interactive way! Discover the pioneering spirit which have helped shaped aviation as we start off with a short presentation about the history of flight.
We will then get interactive and learn about the four forces of flight as we put the Museum's custom T-6 Texan II model aircraft back together, naming its parts along the way.
Your technical skills will be put to the test as you demonstrate what you have learnt as you build your own small, kit-set glider to take home!
We will finish your visit with a special ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour, where you can take a closer look at real aircraft, climb aboard both an aeroplane and a helicopter, and get the unique opportunity to sit in a real aircraft cockpit from our collection.
Great for Year 5 – 8 students
