Join us for an exciting and educational series of presentations in celebration of World Wildlife Day, dedicated to raising awareness about the planet's diverse ecosystems and the urgent need to protect them. Whether you're an environmental enthusiast, educator, or simply passionate about wildlife, this full day event offers an opportunity to engage with experts, learn new skills, and take action.
Event Highlights:

- Koala Tales with Koala Web 11.30am - 12.30pm
Koala Web is a group dedicated to conserving, raising awareness and spreading information about Australia's iconic Koalas. Learn all about Koala ecology, biology and receive an update on Koala conservation efforts from the members of Koala Web;Â
- Dr. Chris West, Director of Koala Life and former CEO of Zoos SA.Â
- Dr Danielle Clode, Associate Professor at Flinders University and Author of award-winning books on Australian natural history & the environment.
- Prof Karen Burke Da Silva, Professor of Biodiversity and Conservation at Flinders University and Lead of the Koala Conservation Hub. - The Secret Lives of Echidnas with EchidnaCSIÂ 1pm - 2pm
EchidnaCSI is a team of world-leading Echidna researchers connecting with the community to learn more about these unique creatures. They will help us gain a better understand of the lives of this elusive creatures and the latest news on Echidna conservation efforts. - Animals Anonymous interactive animal show 2pm - 3pm
This interactive show will also cover topics such as adaptations, ecosystems, life cycles, biodiversity, classification, endangered animals, and more. You will have the chance to get up close and personal with some beautiful Australian animals, learn about these unique species, why some of these species are endangered, and what we can do in our own backyards to help our wildlife. Get up close and personal with a variety of native animals including snakes, lizards, marsupials, baby crocodiles and birds!
*Please note the animal show is booked separately, children under 16 require adult supervision*
This session will help you understand the needs of local wildlife and how to turn your yard into a habitat haven for local birds, reptiles, mammals and insects.
-Â Learn some basic wildlife Identification
- Get some practical tips on adding the elements that native animals need such as logs, water sources and nesting boxes. Â
- How to incorporate local native plants into your garden design to provide food & shelter for wildlife
- Suggestions for native plant species to plant
- Test your knowledge with an interactive habitat quiz & puzzle.Â
The EchidnaCSI app was created for the public to upload photos or videos of Echidna sightings, to help researchers learn more about wild populations. EchidnaCSI is helping to gather data, perform cutting edge research and connect with communities and government bodies in order to aid long-term echidna conservation. The members of the EchidnaCSI team are;
- Dr. Tahlia Perry, Echidna biologist & geneticist, Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Adelaide.
-Â Professor Frank Grutzner, Monotreme Resource Centre at the University of Adelaide
- Dr. Peggy Rismiller OAM, environmental physiologist, educator, and author of 'Echidna: Australia's Enigma.'
-Â Isabella Wilson, PhD student

Who Should Attend:
This series is open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, from environmental professionals and wildlife enthusiasts to families and students interested in learning more about the natural world and its preservation.
Ticket Selection :
You can make a day of it and stay for the whole event, or choose attend one part of the event. We understand that some participants may have young children who just want to come along for the animal show and others are more keen on the 3 informative sessions - so we've given you the option to choose whatever suits you!Â

Sliding scale fees are a pricing structure where the cost of a service or product is adjusted based on a person's ability to pay.
