World's Largest Aqua Aerobics Class!
Description
You've probably driven past the Gold Coast's Commonwealth Games Pool at Southport a hundred times … now we're giving you the best reason to stop and jump in! On Monday 24 August we are filling it with 350+ people for the largest aqua aerobics class Australia has ever seen and we'd love you to be one of them.
Many instructors, one water routine, everybody moving and having a blast together for 45 minutes. Thanks to Ampd Academy for sponsoring the event and also to the Aqua Fitness Trainers for running it. If you have been waiting for a reason to take a Monday afternoon off … this is it.
For only $5, this is the best priced aqua aerobics class you could attend! This small fee covers the entry for the venue (free for Gold Coast Aquatic members).
On the day, arrive when you like, but we'll all get together at 3:00PM sharp for an official count, then we're in the water by 3:15PM.
Bring your swimmers – the brighter the better, a towel and something warm for afterwards. ⚠️ It is a 2M deep pool – if you need flotation assistance please let us know when you register.
Please only register if you're planning on coming, as we'll need you for the official count! This will be a fun, fast-paced, wonderful community event to celebrate everything that Aqua Fitness brings to society. So register, dress up (if you want), jump in and let's set a new world record for the Largest Aqua-Aerobics class!
This event is proudly sponsored by Ampd Academy, presented in partnership with the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) and Aquatics & Recreation Queensland (ARQ) and a prequel special event at the SPARK Aquatics Conference. Learn more about SPARK and buy tickets.

FAQs
- How fit do I need to be?
Moderately. It is a low impact class and the routine is pitched so most people can follow it. If you can manage forty-five minutes of steady movement without needing to stop, you will be fine. If you are unsure, ask your doctor before you register.
- What if I have to stop partway through?
You can, and a lifeguard will help you out. You just will not be included in the count. Be honest with yourself now rather than at minute thirty.
- How cold is the water?
The pool is heated to around 27 degrees. You will be fine once you are moving. Bring something warm for afterwards.
- Can i come and just watch?
Please do. Centre entry still applies, so grab a spectator ticket to skip the counter queue.
