Worm Farms for Schools & ELC's 2024

Is your school or Early Learning Centre passionate about diverting organic waste from landfill and want to do more?
Eligible City of Stirling primary schools, high schools and Early Learning Centres (ELC) are able to register to go into the draw to win one of six (6) vouchers for the supply and installation of a FREE Recycled Fridge Worm Farm from The Worm Shed.
Worm Farms are a simple and low maintenance way to divert organic waste, such as kitchen scraps and garden waste, away from landfill – turning it into a valuable resource to be used back on the garden.
The package includes supply of a recycled fridge worm farm, with worms and accessories, delivered and installed at your school or ELC located within the City of Stirling.

How to register:
- Click 'Get Tickets' tab at the top of this page.
- Complete all questions. Note, you will need to provide your school or Early Learning Centre name, ABN, address, contact person and telephone number and answer all six (6) questions;
- Submit your application;
- Wait to see if you have been successful.
- Note: only one application per school / ELC please
Key Dates:
- Monday 10 June 2024 applications opens
- Friday 28 June 2024 applications closes at midnight
- Monday 1 July eligibility check commences
- Wednesday 10 July 2024 Community Garden committee member draws six (6) winning entries from eligible applicants
- Friday 12 July 2024 all applicants notified outcomes of their application
- Friday 19 July 2024 vouchers provided to successful applicants
Entry criteria:
Please read through the information below to ensure your application will meet the criteria for this Worm Farm initiative.
- Ensure your organisation is an eligible primary/secondary school or Early Learning Centres (ELS's) and is located within the City of Stirling;
- Answer all questions in the application;
- Ensure your school will have a minimum of 10 students per Semester to be involved in the immediate and ongoing care of the Worm Farm (rotating roster or same group of students);
- Ensure your school / ELC will have at least 2 staff members committed to the immediate and ongoing care of the Worm Farm. You will actively engage the students with the worm farm where practicably possible;
- There are six (6) worm farms available and the winners will be drawn at random from eligible entries;
- All worm farms to be installed no later than the end of week 8 (6 September) of Term 3, 2024.
- Online content and photographs from the school / ELC to be made available for the City of Stirling to share or distribute among the community where possible.
Please note that incomplete applications and/or applications received after the closing deadline will not be considered.
The following will not be eligible for funding:
- applicants that have not met the criteria or have outstanding debts to the City;
- organisations that align to a political cause.
