Laura McPhee-Browne is a writer, social worker, and counsellor living in Melbourne on Wurundjeri land. Her short stories have been published widely in Australia. Her first two novels, Cherry Beach (2020) and Little Plum (2023), were published with Text Publishing to critical acclaim.

Anna Downes was born in Sheffield, trained at RADA and worked in acting before becoming a novelist. Her internationally bestselling debut The Safe Place (2020) was shortlisted for the 2021 Sisters in Crime Davitt Awards. She followed with The Shadow House (2021) and Red River Road (2024).
