Event description

The workshop will run from 8:30am - 4:00pm. Please arrive latest by 8:15am for registration.

This workshop will provide attendees with detailed knowledge and information on the latest in wound care techniques and treatments for people with hard to heal wounds. The program will explore multidisciplinary management of surgical & acute wounds, skin tears, superficial and partial thickness burns and lower limb ulcers.

Facilitators:

  • Mr. Taliesin Ellis, Wound Management Clinical Practice Consultant

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognise different types of commonly occurring wounds in Community, General Practice, Aged Care and Acute settings.
  • Discuss biofilm occurrence as a key factor that can affect wound healing.
  • Summarise importance of appropriate dressings categories for different types of wounds.
  • Analyse compression methods & products for people with lower limb ulcers
  • Describe the value of ceramide containing moisturisers for fragile or inflamed skin

This workshop is pending accreditation with RACGP and ACRRM for 6 CPD hours.
