Event description

👩‍🤝‍👩🏽Welcome & Program Launch 👩‍🤝‍👩🏽

⛰ Join us at the WOW Project: Welcome & Program Launch Event with a very special celebration of the amazing creative women and non-binary people in our community.

WOW project : Wild Women and their Creations

This exhibition is here to celebrate the wild women and non-binary artists of these mountains and plains. It explores different ways we connect with nature, our bodies, and each other through acts of art and adventure. There is a fierce gentleness to making art, to taking the time to look with curiosity at the details and patterns in the world around us, to taking a feeling from inside ourselves and shaping it into something we can share. We hope you enjoy spending some time with us and our creations in the gallery this weekend.

Artists: Cat Lawrence @catlawrance, Cath, Charlee Harberger-Fischer @leavesmeflowers, Claire Anezka @claireanezka, Dusk @baulch_tales, Fari Islam, Jacquie Tinkler @bluestarbug, Lotus Wintersea @lotuswintersea, Maddy Grupper amnd Micky Williams @martistie91

Special thanks to Jacqui Tinkler and The Goat Gallery 🐐

🖤 We acknowledge the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk Peoples (collectively Wotjobaluk) of Dyuritte, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we will gather. As Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together we have a sense of the importance of the country upon which we are standing, where exploration has taken place over many thousands of years. Let us sense the land where we will meet, learn and play, acknowledge to whom it belongs and pay our respects to their Elders and all Elders, past and present.

💚 WOW Project is proudly funded by the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, West Wimmera Health Service and The North Face. It is auspiced by ACT Natimuk and will be delivered by ClimbingQTs in partnership alongside Melbourne Climbing School/The Climbing Company.
