Event description

From the acting to the writing to the costumes, the Barbie movie was global phenomenon following its release earlier this year. In addition to Barbie’s outstanding production values, the movie was also praised for the way it promoted themes including feminism, gender equity, and diversity.

For our end of year event, you’re invited to join the Women’s Professional Development Network (WPDN) for a thought-provoking and fun panel discussion about equity and diversity in the Barbie movie, followed by a screening of the movie itself.

Our panelists include:

  • Dr Amelie Burgess, Lecturer in Marketing (Adelaide Business School)
  • Dr Jessica Ford, Lecturer in Media (School of Humanities)
  • Dr Nathan Manning, Senior Lecturer (School of Social Sciences)
  • Professor Andrew van der Vlies, Deputy Dean - People & Culture (ABLE) and Professor in English and Creative Writing (School of Humanities)
  • Ms Marziah Zarazillah, Project Manager in the Integration Management Office
