WRIQ Industry Forum | Queensland’s Waste and Recycling Infrastructure: Priorities, challenges and opportunities
Description
Waste Recycling Industry Association QLD invites industry, local government and government stakeholders to an in-person lunch discussion focused on Queensland’s waste and recycling infrastructure priorities and planning for future needs.
The Queensland Government’s 2026–27 State Budget has confirmed a $487 million Waste Reduction and Recycling Activation Fund for councils and industry, providing an important opportunity to support infrastructure and other waste and recycling projects across Queensland.
The forum will bring industry and local government together to discuss infrastructure priorities, consider current and future capacity needs, and identify the challenges and opportunities that need to be addressed to support Queensland’s waste and recycling system.
The lunch will provide an opportunity to share perspectives, discuss priority infrastructure needs and consider where there may be opportunities for industry and government to work together to progress projects, including through available funding programs.
