WHAT IS WRITE CLUB?

Write Club is a weekly, two-hour guided creative writing session for people who want to slow down, reflect and reconnect with their creative selves. Whether you write regularly or haven’t picked up a pen in years, these sessions are welcome to all skill levels.

Take a seat. Pick up your pen. Allow it to nestle in the crook between your thumb and your index finger. Place the nib to the blank page before you and allow the pen to dance across the paper like a ballerina. (Or not... that's what the wine is for!) In this warm space, bathed in the soft glow of candles, surrounded by lovers of poetry and prose, you have found a community.

Each session is facilitated by me (Mark Isaacs), I'm an author of three books and a writing teacher and mentor. I guide the room through two hours of themed writing prompts. I hold the space, set the pace, and make it a place where you can rediscover your love of writing.

This is not a class. There are no lessons. But the prompts will broaden your writing skills and encourage you to think deeply about your creative practice.

When: Every Tuesday, 6-8pm
Where: Old Maids, Brunswick Heads
Bring: A pen and paper

Come alone or bring friends. Either way, come often. Each week’s theme is announced on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Food and drinks can be ordered from Saint Maries.

Bookings are essential, as places are limited.

  • 30 bucks and 2 hours a week is unravelling more than a month of therapy and healing more core wounds than 10 years of shamanic practice. This is a direct line into the soul.
