Join a distinguished panel of experts as they explore best practices for writing and publishing high-quality research in the field of educational technology. This session will provide invaluable insights into designing impactful studies, navigating publication processes, and aligning research with current trends and needs in educational technology. Panellists will share their experiences and strategies for producing work that drives innovation and contributes meaningfully to the scholarly community. 

Associate Professor Rachel Fitzgerald is a leader in educational technology and digital learning innovation. With extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, Rachel specialises in the integration of generative AI into pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment. She has published widely on eLearning and lifelong learning, Rachel is the Senior Editor for Educational Technology Papers for the Journal of University Learning and Teaching Practice, Associate Editor for Australasian Journal of Educational Technology, Co-Editor of Technology-Enhanced Learning and the Virtual University (2023) and co-author of the forthcoming book: Navigating the Impossible in Online Learning Design: Adaptive Solutions for Global Higher Education

Associate Professor Henk Huijser is an Associate Professor and Strategic Lead Educator Development and Recognition in the Learning and Teaching Unit at Queensland University of Technology. He has been an academic developer since 2005 in Australia, the Middle East and China. Henk is a Lead Co-Editor of the Australasian Journal of Educational Technology and an Associate Editor of the International Journal for Academic Development. He is Co-Author of Problem-based Learning into the Future (2017) and Co-Editor of Student Support Services (2022) and Technology-Enhanced Learning and the Virtual University (2023) and co-author of the forthcoming book: Navigating the Impossible in Online Learning Design: Adaptive Solutions for Global Higher Education (2025).

Associate Professor Michael Cowling (Associate Professor - Information & Communication Technology, CQUniversity) has been a leader in educational technology for over 20 years and was the recipient of the Universities Australia 2020 AAUT Award for Teaching Excellence (Physical Sciences & Related Studies). He is the President (2023 to 2025) of the Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE), where he is also a Community Fellow, as well as the current Vice-President of the Open Access Publishing Association (OAPA). Through his mantra ‘pedagogy before technology’, he fosters thoughtfulness in technology for students, educators and the public.

Kwong Nui is a dynamic academic who has developed a significant academic profile in the last decade as an experienced scholar/researcher, pedagogically sound teacher, grants/awards recipient and well- rounded academic developer. Apart from varying her approaches to incorporate diverse conversations to engage with different people, Kwong Nui is constantly striving to enhance her academic and leadership experiences.

Dr. Erin Roehrer is a Senior Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology at the University of Tasmania, with a passion for integrating educational technologies to enhance student learning experiences. Erin is an Associate Editor for Educational Technology Papers for the Journal of University Learning and Teaching Practice. Erin has led transformative projects in curriculum design, integrating technology to improve accessibility, engagement, and student success in diverse learning environments. Her work focuses on bridging cultural and pedagogical divides, sharing strategies that empower educators to adopt and adapt educational technologies effectively. Her scholarly contributions, including publications on technology-enhanced learning, reflect a commitment to fostering active learning environments. Erin’s work bridges global and local contexts, blending pedagogical innovation with practical application to drive positive student outcomes.
