Writing Essentials (full day)

This one-day course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to write quality documents in the public sector. 

Participants will explore what is unique about writing for the ACTPS, and the elements of high-quality writing. They will identify the process for writing different documents, consider the purpose, audience, protocols and timeframes, and learn how to create compelling content.
Participants will benefit from sharing thoughts, experiences and tips about writing for government, and practice writing techniques to create compelling content. If delivered virtually, the workshop will include short webinars, self-directed learning and interactive group discussions.

Explore the challenges of writing for government.
Know the essentials of writing, including language fundamentals, style and protocols
Learn the basics of grammar and punctuation, and the use of active language
Identify the different types of documents written in the ACTPS.
Develop writing techniques and tools to write high-quality documents with compelling content.
