Writing With Ink - Game Writing Workshop

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

This workshop will introduce you to an easy to learn language for writing interactive stories or adding narrative to games called ink. ink was created by the UK game development studio inkle and has been used in all their games including Overboard!, Heaven's Vault and and their collaboration with Meghna Jayanth, the postcolonial reimagining of the Jules Verne novel, 80 Days.

It has also been used for games including scifi coming of age tale Sable, gay romcom Dream Daddy, anti-imperialist bird raising adventure Falcon Age, beautiful refugee story Bury Me My Love and upcoming queer high school adventure Goodbye Volcano High.

Programmer, Narrative designer & Pride at Play team member Jae Stuart will take you through features of ink including making choices, remembering player or reader actions and story logic.

Ideally participants should bring their own laptops with which to write stories but we will also write a story together as a group on the projector!
