Whether it's a family heirloom with sentimental significance, an old photo depicting a treasured memory, or a souvenir that evokes a formative moment, mementoes and similar objects can act as powerful prompts for writing. In this practical workshop, author and creative writing teacher Dr Gemma Nisbet will offer inspiration and guidance for writing through and with objects, covering techniques and approaches adaptable to a range of genres but with a particular focus on memoir, autobiography, biography, personal essay, and other forms of life writing. Participants are invited to bring along 1-3 significant objects of their own to use as prompts.
