Want to set your stories free?

Push yourself out of your nest. Wren Rapture (Ren Alessandra) will help you migrate your thoughts to the page, become an eagled-eyed editor and take flight on stage. Spread your words at the Moorabool Poetry Slam for your chance to win a prize worth $20k including publication and international touring.

Wren Rapture (Ren Alessandra) is an Italo-Australian, award-winning poet, celebrant and educator. With a Masters of Teaching and twelve years industry experience, Wren facilitates storytelling spaces through Wordcraft, a collective for all ages to celebrate their stories in safe and inclusive environments. Since winning the 2020 Australian Poetry Slam Championship, she has gone on to be commissioned by organisations worldwide. Most recently she was published by the State Library of Victoria as a part of the (In)Visible Libraries initiative bringing poetry to braille readers for the first time. She also judged the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Poetry in 2022 among many others. Performing at festivals, schools and in community, Wren advocates for the medicine of storytelling at every turn. She has just launched her debut collection, Blueprint Body.

This workshop is open to adults and youth aged 12+.

Supported by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, Create NSW, Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, Byron Writers Festival and Singapore Writers Festival. In partnership with Wordcraft, a spoken word collective.
