Event description

GCMAGIC and Art+Potluck Project invite you to a FREE writing workshop and potluck dinner.

As part of the Knowledge Is Power Project, Dr Heba Mohtady Ali will be facilitating the workshop on Creative Writing as a tool for increasing resilience in the fact of Domestic and Family Violence. After the workshop, you are invited to a potluck dinner where you can share a dish that you bring to the dining table. The dinner will include an "open mic" format to invite guests to share their special creative talents. Enjoy the sharing of stories about writing experiences, bring your favourite pen, show off your stationery collection, share a letter you have sent or have received, and you can even just write or draw on the spot! Feel free to bring your talents with you -- singing, dancing, poetry, acting, music, meditating, all creative things you wanted to do; there is always room for everyone to share the spotlight.

*ART+POTLUCK PROJECT organises potluck dinners/lunches at various community and creative spaces on the Gold Coast. A potluck is a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different dish of food to be shared at the dinner table.

The workshop will begin at 4pm and conclude at 5:15pm.

Dinner will commence at 5:30pm.

This event is free to join but please bring a dish to share. Invite a friend, family and colleagues and enjoy an evening potluck with pen and paper. Registration is required.

More details will be sent to those who register.
