Healthy Land & Water's Water by Design initiative invites government and industry stakeholders to Water Sensitive Urban Design Whole of Asset Lifecycle Training in Rockhampton.

This FREE one-and-a-half day training workshop, delivered by leading Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) expert Shaun Leinster, will cover the key principles of WSUD asset planning, design, construction, handover, and maintenance.

This training is intended for practitioners who are involved in any part of the WSUD lifecycle and aims to improve knowledge, communication, and coordination across professions and departments, and ultimately improve WSUD outcomes across the region.

The training will consist of an in-classroom component and a field half-day.

The first day will include presentations and discussions on:

Policy, guidance and submission requirements.
WSUD design and considerations.
WSUD construction and handover.
WSUD maintenance/renewal.
Opportunity for attendees to discuss and share examples of asset issues and learnings.

The second day will involve a site visit to observe examples of WSUD assets.

Please note the below event finish dates and times:
Day 1 - Tuesday 1 October | 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Day 2 - Wednesday 2 October | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Catering will be provided on Day 1.

Personal protective equipment

Please ensure you bring the following items and PPE for the site visit on Day 2:

Closed in shoes.
Long pants, long sleeves.
Reusable water bottle
Snacks/morning tea.
Hat.
Sunscreen.
Rain jacket (if necessary).
