Wu Tao - Dancing in the Park

Event description

Wu Tao (the dancing way) is a beautiful practise to revitalise your physical, mental and energetic bodies.

Each month, we gather to dance together in the beautiful Bayswater Riverside Gardens (near the Sea Scout Hall). These sessions are free, so people can come and try this rejuvenating dance practise.

Please bring a drink bottle and yoga mat or blanket. Wear comfortable clothes. Shoes are optional.

The 5 dances (based on the elements of Air, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth) are easy to do, fun to learn and the gentle yet powerful flowing movements increase body tone and flexibility. The dances are suitable for everyone and greatly improve mood and foster feelings of peace and calm.

Conscious Movement is a powerful healing therapy and Wu Tao is an enjoyable way to exercise your body and nourish your soul.

The main form of Wu Tao is a series of dances that balance Qi (our lifeforce). This is achieved by activating and stretching channels (called meridians) which are the pathways through which Qi energy flows. The dances are learned and performed to beautiful melodic music which corresponds with the particular energy and quality of the element for which it is used. The end result is an experience of beauty, harmony and balance at every level. In Wu Tao, while one is focused on "doing" the routine with the music, the mind becomes still and the body poised and balanced. For people who love to dance, Wu Tao is the ultimate stress management system and graceful way to exercise. For more information about classes in other areas around Perth, please visit the Wu Tao website
