WWC Act Review - Business sector consultation
Description
The Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG) is inviting the business sector to have their say on the review of legislation that underpins the Working with Children Check (WWCC).
As of October 2025, more than 2 million people in NSW hold a WWCC clearance, with over half a million processed in the past year alone.
The Review will ensure that the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 (WWC Act) continues to protect children and young people, while remaining clear, fair and effective.
The Review may lead to:
changes in how key terms are defined
who may require a WWCC
how decisions are made.
We are encouraging individuals, organisations and community groups to contribute their feedback.
