As America celebrates its 250th birthday, join us for an extraordinary eight-part World War II Film Series featuring some of the most acclaimed military films ever made. Whether you're a history buff, a classic film enthusiast, or simply looking for a meaningful cultural experience, the series offers a unique opportunity to revisit these timeless stories while supporting an important cause.

SUPPORTING OUR VETERANS

All net proceeds from the WWII Film Series benefit the Warrior Scholar Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans transition from military service to higher education and meaningful civilian careers. By subscribing to the series, audiences can enjoy eight memorable evenings of film and conversation while directly supporting an organization that helps today's veterans build successful lives after military service.

Each screening will feature an introduction by a distinguished guest with a unique connection to the film or expertise in World War II history, providing historical context and insights into the people, events, and stories portrayed on screen. We are especially honored that acclaimed producer Mark Gordon will introduce Saving Private Ryan, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Additional guest speakers will be announced as they are confirmed.

Chief Advancement Officer, Warrior-Scholar Project

Tiffany Drummond Armstrong brings more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience to the Warrior-Scholar Project. She holds a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in nonprofit management and has led fundraising and advancement efforts for organizations including The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the College Diabetes Network, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Guest Speaker: Marc Wortman

Author and Historian

Marc Wortman is an acclaimed author and historian whose book 1941: Fighting the Shadow War chronicles the dramatic period leading up to America's entry into World War II. His writing on American military history has appeared in Time, Rolling Stone, and Vanity Fair, and he has been interviewed by CNN, NPR, The History Channel, and other national media outlets. He has also taught and lectured at numerous colleges and universities on the people, events, and experiences of the wartime era.

Guest Speaker: Glenn Marcus

Documentary Producer and Writer

Glenn Marcus, a former member of the Johns Hopkins University faculty who previously held prominent positions at PBS and the National Endowment for the Humanities, has produced and written numerous documentaries exploring World War II and its legacy. His Emmy-nominated Hallowed Grounds examines military cemeteries in eight countries, combining the history of the battles that created them with the stories of some of the 125,000 service members buried there. His WWII Memorial: A Testament to Freedom chronicles the creation of the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., while sharing the stories of those who experienced the war.

Guest Speaker: Bob Warren

Appeared in the Film

Bob Warren, a former attorney and federal and state prosecutor, earned his "15 minutes of fame" in an unusual way. While studying at the University of Madrid in 1969, classes were suspended amid student protests. Exploring the city during the unexpected break, Warren was approached by a casting director looking for extras for a film about General George S. Patton. He spent the next month riding tanks, marching through the snow in military gear, and enjoying a remarkable close-up view of the making of Patton.

Saving Private Ryan

Guest Speaker: Mark Gordon

Producer, Saving Private Ryan

Mark Gordon is one of the entertainment industry's most accomplished film and television producers, with more than 100 productions to his credit. As a producer of Steven Spielberg's landmark Saving Private Ryan, Gordon received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and a BAFTA nomination for Best Film, while the film won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Drama.

His extensive film credits also include Speed, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow, Steve Jobs, Molly's Game, Source Code, and Murder on the Orient Express. In television, Gordon has been behind such acclaimed and long-running series as Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, and Ray Donovan. A former president of the Producers Guild of America and a two-time Emmy Award winner, Gordon has also received the Guild's prestigious Norman Lear Award for Achievement in Television.

Gordon will offer a rare firsthand, behind-the-scenes perspective on the making of Saving Private Ryan and the creation of a film that has become one of cinema's defining portrayals of World War II.
