• Can I arrive before the event starts?

  The fairgrounds is a public facility so we can't control who arrives early. You will need to contact that fairgrounds directly. They will park you away from the Romp It Up event space as we will be preparing for the event. FYI: Many attendees have stayed at the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area which is located about 10 miles north of Sonoita. It is first come - first serve dry camping and requires some gravel road travel. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU ENTER FROM HIGHWAY 83 AND NOT HIGHWAY 82 AS THE LATTER CAN GET A LITTLE ROUGH.

• Can I bring a pet?

  Yes, we some caveats. (A) All pets must be on a leash when outside of your rig. - Short leashes only. (B) No pets in the food serving areas. (C) Please pick up after your pet.

• When is the event?

  General attendees arrive November 11, 2026. Spark attendees enjoy early access starting November 10, 2026.

• Where exactly is it held?

  Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, Sonoita, Arizona, which is located in the high-desert region 45 minutes south of Tucson, Arizona.

• How should I dress?

  • Daytime: Light layers, jeans, casual comfortable clothes for pickleball, hay rides, and outdoor activities

  • Evenings/campfire: A warm jacket or fleece — it gets cold fast at that elevation (Sonoita sits around 4,700 ft)

  • Durable shoes are a good idea since might be walking on some uneven ground.

• Where do I enter the fairgrounds?

  Look for the orange cones at the back entrance about 100 yards south of the main entrance (Where the horse statue is located). You will see a private event sign. Pull all the way forward to the park attendee area where our high-quality parking attendance will greet and park you.

• Can I park with my friends?

  Yes, but you will need to arrive as a group. We will do our very best to get you together based on rig size and if attendees in your group have purchased electric sights.

• Is the water at the fairgrounds?

  Yes. Though we highly recommend that you arrive with full fresh water tanks and empty black and grey tanks to speed up the parking process, there is water on-site.

• Is there a dump station at the fairgrounds?

  No, but here are some options:

  1. There is a pump truck that we can contact - Last time we used them, it was $50 per pump out. Ask an event volunteer and he/she can help you set up an appointment.

  2. Patagonia Lake State Park (520) 287-6965) - 20 miles west. State park with RV facilities; call to confirm dump station availability. Last we checked, you will need to pay an entrance fee.

  3. Sleeping Dog RV Ranch — A reviewer specifically mentions paying a small fee to dump, fill water, do laundry, and dispose of trash. Very well-reviewed. Open 8am–7pm daily. (520) 975-0991 (FYI - THIS A VERY!!! ROUGH ROAD IN.)

  WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU ARRIVE WITH EMPTY BLACK AND GREY TANKS. One reason that we keep the event at 5 days is due to the fact the most RV black/grey tanks can last at least 5 days. FYI - There are bathrooms on site if you would like to extend your tanks.

• Can I have on open fire?

  No. We do allow LP fires. Please keep in mind that the fairgrounds is surrounded by grasslands that can be very dry and prone to wild fires. In addition, the winds can come up quickly thus increasing the risks.

• Is there trash available?

  Yes. We make a daily run through the RV parking sites so that you don't need to haul it yourself. We just ask that you use at least semi-sturdy garbage bags.

• What does my ticket include?

  Your ticket covers access to all scheduled event activities — live music, a wine with tour coach bus transportation and a commemorative wine tumbler (FYI - WE DO NOT PROVIDE THE WINE, BUT THE WINERIES PROVIDE GROUP DISCOUNTS) , a costume dance party, karaoke, pickleball, hay rides, Note: Your ticket includes a parking spot for 5 nights (If you purchase a general admission ticket.)

• Do I need an RV to attend?

  Yes. This is an RV-only event. Each registered spot accommodates one RV. With that said, if you have a van or truck camper that is fine too. There are bathrooms on-site. No Showers though.

• How many RVs are allowed?

  The event is capped at 85 RVs to keep the experience intimate and community-focused.

• What is the VIP package?

  The VIP package ($99/person) is capped at 30 people. It includes early arrival on November 10, a private acoustic campfire concert with The Border Hookups, a commemorative gift and more. It's a truly intimate experience!

• If I have strong allergies is this a good event for me?

  • Grass/pollen — Sonoita sits in a high desert grassland valley at 4,700 ft. November is generally lower pollen season, but it's still an open-air, rural environment

  • Dust — Fairgrounds settings with gravel, hay rides, and foot traffic can kick up dust

  • Hay — Hay rides are part of the event program, so hay/straw allergies are worth flagging

  • Animals — Depending on fairgrounds activity, animal dander could be present

  • Food — Food trucks will be on site; individual allergen information would need to be confirmed with each vendor directly

  The good news:

  • November is one of the better months in Arizona for outdoor events allergy-wise

  • Being in an RV means you have your own controlled sleeping and living environment

  • The event is small and intimate — you won't be navigating large crowds

  Our recommendation: Consult your doctor before attending, come prepared with your medications, and reach out to us directly with specific concerns so we can help you plan accordingly.

• Do I need to have a costume for the dance?

  No, but we would love it if you did. No pressure! :-) We will be having a costume contest with prizes if you would like to join in.

• What is the toy drive all about?

  Every year we do a toy drive to help in providing toys to the kids in the community of Sonoita. Bring a toy and get a raffle ticket. Bring 2 toys and get 2 raffle tickets.... And so on. Prizes differ from year to year, but they are always great! Here's to giving back!

• Are day passes available?

  No, not at this time.

• Can I bring a friend along?

  Yes, but they will need to purchase an ADDITIONAL TICKET and they will need to stay in your RV along with the GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET that you purchased.

• What are some things that I should keep in mind?

  1. The high desert can get cold, so dress accordingly.

  2. The winds can come up fast, so we suggest not using your awnings, event if you have automatics. The wind can come in with no warning.

  3. Be sure to arrive with full water tanks and empty black and grey tanks.

  4. Generators can be used, but there are set hours.
