    About AFTERGLOW:

Afterglow is a limited collection of poetry that delves into overcoming trauma, discovering strength and tapping into spiritual resilience. It explores past trauma and informs these lessons to illuminate the divine strength in survivors. Using a black hole as a metaphor, it brings to light the often silenced faith based narratives of women, unveiling deep, untapped strength. Its tagline, “One Star’s Ending is a Black Woman’s Beginning” encapsulates its soulful core to illustrate rebirth and renewal. Above all, Afterglow provides a safe and inspirationally enriching space for survivors of color to regain their power.

    About Wynter L. Eddins:

Wynter Eddins is a multi-published author of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County. Eddins' poetry showcases the hidden struggles of Black women and women of color, emphasizing the importance of cultivating safe spaces and multicultural communities. Her works encompass historical issues facing women including domestic violence, child sexual assault, and harassment, and the resilience displayed in overcoming traumatic situations.

Eddins holds a masters of Science in Education from Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s in Communication from Cal State University, Northridge. Her love for education and young people inspired her to start a nonprofit organization, Simply Youth Institute, educating students from underserved/ underbanked communities on financial responsibility, healthy relationships, and connecting them to careers/mentors, to increase confidence and generational wealth in her community. All of her talents and love for art, including acting and spoken word are a weapon to build a healthier community where young people and women of color feel empowered to share their voice. Her vision is for everyone to have financial stability and live in a state of peace.

    Praise for AFTERGLOW:

"after GLOW is a transformative voyage of the heart set against an expansive galactic backdrop. Wynter’s words beautifully navigate the journey of a heart that bleeds, scars, and finally emerges, mended and open to “wishes” once more. This work gives a voice to the silent stories of Black women who have endured the harrowing experiences of sexual trauma and domestic violence. As I embarked on Wynter’s journey, I felt seen, heard, ready to face my trauma, and take on the stars."

    -Tyler Lenn Bradley, Motivational Poet

"Wynter Eddins speaks the truth. She takes the reader into a journey of pain and dysfunction.  She paints the picture of children holding onto secrets as adults continue to lie and betray their innocence.  The beauty of Eddin's work is she does not leave the reader in the pain, she gives this little girl a voice, and one day she gains the strength to stand tall and speak.  She then advocates for others and no longer stays quiet. In this work, Eddins gives voice to those who are too afraid to speak. This book is for every woman, every man, and every child who was robbed of their childhood through family trauma. She gives hope that the hurt can no longer define us, and with healing we can rise and give the gift of empowerment to others through our example."
