In celebration of her new single “Michelle” (produced, recorded and mixed by Jan Skubisewski), Naarm/Melbourne-based contemporary violinist/vocalist Xani has mapped out an adventure throughout November to visit friends and fans interstate.
Every show will be a little bit different. Xani will be playing songs from her forthcoming album "An Inaccurate History of Electronic Dance Music", and songs from the past. She will also play improvised and epic soundscapes using electronic effects and live looping. It has been a few years between drinks, but now is the time to dive right back in.
Xani will be joined by two of her favourite contemporary string players, Jane Aubourg (The Music Box Project) and Peter Hollo/raven (FourPlay String Quartet), for a special night of improvisatory, explorative and contemporary amplified string music.

Jane Aubourg
Jane is a Dharawal/Wollongong based composer, violinist, and maker. Her performances, compositions and installations often draw from folk, minimalism, and experimental music.
She also writes, plays, and explores with the music box project, who commission and perform music outside the usual order of things.
She finds loops and textures fascinating, enjoys improvising & collaborating with friends, and making things with her hands.

Peter Hollo/raven
Peter Hollo is a cellist and electronic musician from Sydney. He has over 25 years of experience making non-classical music, from the rock and internationalist music of FourPlay String Quartet to the pioneering hybrid electronic/post-rock/improv of Tangents (globally released on the legendary Brooklyn label Temporary Residence Ltd), performing with neo-classical pianist Sophie Hutchings, playing with Central Asian-influenced doom guitarist Lachlan R Dale, and creating spontaneous musical creations in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House with the likes of Lisa Gerrard and Grant Morrison. In Peter's solo project raven, improvised cello is embedded and woven into electronic processing. Melodies are sampled and played back to create deep orchestral textures, and then broken into stuttering, glitching pieces alongside sub-bass and mashed beats.
