XR in the Metaverse

When the technological boundaries of any given medium are shifted, the commercial and artistic boundaries typically follow suit, as the broadening of scope and capacity that said boundaries moving offers enables greater possibilities than what was previously possible. One such technology in which this is the case is that of both Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR)- also known under the umbrella of Extended Reality (XR). These technologies allow for mediums previously exclusively consumed passively, to be actively consumed- the opportunities such provides being as numerous and varied as they are different to how we currently consume media.

Panellists:

Dr. Erin Evans - Ardacious.

Doctor Erin Evans is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Ardacious, where her expertise in Augmented reality systems allows the team to develop highly immersive tabletop RPG experiences. 

Dr. Ralf Muhlberger - Ardacious.

Doctor Ralf Muhlberger is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Ardacious, where his 25+ years of industry experience has come in handy in bringing XR platforms and experiences to market.

Karen Sanders - XR Hub.

Karen Sanders is the Chief executive officer of Queensland XR Hub, as well as the co-founder and General Manager of Real Serious Games- both of which are heavily involved in the further development and synthesisation of XR platforms and experiences, particularly as a platform for training for specialised professions such as Firefighting and Surgery within the risk-free environment XR provides.

Leonie Sanderson - People Tech Revolution.

Leonie Sanderson is the Joint Chief Executive Officer of People Tech Revolution, a group which tasks themselves with using VR for use within the Health, education, and Social care sectors.

Matt Kirby - QLD XR Festival.

Matt Kirby is the Festival director of Queensland XR Festival. He is also the Co-Founder of AR start-up, CloudBNE. His areas of expertise are AR, VR, ESports and animation.
