    Event description

“Be the change you want to see in the world”.

Sometimes, it can feel like the pressure to save our planet from climate change, prejudice and discrimination, poverty and inequity, and global pandemics is on the shoulders of young people alone to solve. With the world facing so many overwhelming problems, it can leave you thinking, where do I start?

We are thrilled to be launching a Changemaker Workshop to empower young people in Albany and throughout the Great Southern region of WA to take the first steps to becoming change-makers and advocates in your community.

This is for any young person aged 15 to 25 who lives, works, studies, volunteers or spends time in the Great Southern region of WA.

    About this FREE workshop

Hosted by the Youth Affairs Council of WA, in this workshop you will:

    • Hear from young leaders in ‘Chats with a Changemaker’ to learn about what it’s like to pursue change making as a young person
    • Level-up your change making skills with a mini-masterclass on becoming a youth advocate and leader
    • Meet like-minded peers who are genuinely interested and invested in making meaningful change in the Great Southern
    • Have access to a power-up pack post-workshop with opportunities, experiences, and challenges to take part in to continue your journey as a changemaker.

    Why come along?

    • Find your people - Meet like-minded young changemakers and leaders who share your passions and values.
    • Be inspired - Follow in the footsteps of young people who’ve made a meaningful impact, without age and experience on their side.
    • Get empowered - With the skill set you need to make a tangible difference in your community straight away
    • Great to have on your resume!
    • $50 EFTPOS gift card door prize (for one lucky attendee).
    • Food and drinks will be provided.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. So what are you waiting for?! Take your first step towards making a difference. We’ll see you at the workshop!
