Yaga
Event description
YAGA
by Kat Sandler
directed by Mike Lion
In-over-his-head detective Rapp finds himself in an isolated, college town asking what the disappearance of a young heir to a yogurt empire has to do with a random folktale about an old witch. Matched by an apprehensive local sheriff, a university professor with a taste for younger men, and a whole cast of curious characters, the Slavic myth of Baba Yaga twists into a new labyrinth of secret lives, ancient magic, and multiple suspects in Kat Sandler’s Yaga.
Sandler’s script is thrilling, sexy, and genre defying, and Dacha’s production, virtuosic in its theatricality, is a tour-de-force by three actors. As you enter Baba Yaga’s woods, you’ll soon realize that this is not a typical night at the theater. But then again Baba Yaga is not your typical witch. She will lure you in and keep you guessing until the bitter end. So turn your back to the woods, avoid spoilers at all costs, and keep your wits about you.
