SHE HIKES PERTH - YALGORUP NATIONAL PARK HIKE

  • Yalgorup National Park/Preston Beach

  • Difficulty: Easy/Moderate

Join us for a morning of exploring two trails within the Yalgorup National Park, taking in limestone ridges, lakeside scenery, woodland and spring wildflowers. We'll complete the Heathlands Walk Trail first before regrouping and driving together to the Lime Kiln Lake Trail

MEETING POINT

We will all meet at Heathlands Walk Trail Car Park, Preston Beach Road at 8:30am, ready to depart at 8:50am.

WALK 1 - HEATHLANDS WALK TRAIL

  • Distance: 4.6km Loop

  • Duration: ~ 1.5 hours

  • Difficulty: Moderate / Class 3

This first trail follows a limestone ridge with views over Lake Preston, passing through woodland and heathland with the chance to see spring wildflowers along the way.

We expect to finish this hike ~ 10:20am, then regrouping and drive together to our second location.

WALK 2 - LIME KILN LAKE TRAIL

  • Distance: 1.4km return

  • Duration: ~ 30mins

  • Difficulty: Easy

A short historical walk through peppermint and melaleuca woodland, passing the remains of the old lime works and heading out towards Lake Cliffton

PUB LUNCH

After completing both walks, we'll be heading for an optional pub lunch at Lake Cliffton, from ~ 11:30am - 12:00pm

FITNESS/EXPERIENCE

You should be comfortable walking approx. 6km over uneven bush terrain.

All participants join She Hikes Perth activities at their own risk.

CARPOOLING

Carpooling is strongly encouraged.

Please use the carpool group chat to find passengers or drivers.

Please discuss with drivers and passengers about joining for the optional lunch.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Minimum 2L of water

  • Snacks/food

  • Hiking shoes/boots

  • Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, etc.)

  • Rain jacket if required

  • Any other personal hiking essentials

NOTE: There are no toilets at either trail, so please plan accordingly.

Registration is required for everyone attending and is for BOTH hikes.
