Discover the fascinating vegetation and ecology of the Birrarung near the Heide Museum of Modern Art with this informative tour. Led by Heide Gardener Luke Murchie, participants will explore the Yaluk Langa site, where they’ll learn about the process of revegetating the land along the banks of the Birrarung. The tour also covers the site’s history and how the Yaluk Langa project contributes to the river’s biodiversity.

Spend 'A Day at Heide' for Open Nature
Join Andrew Skeoch at 9am for Acoustic Ecologies, a peaceful listening walk and field recording activity. Grab a morning tea cuppa at the Heide cafe before Luke Murchie's insightful Yaluk Langa ecology workshop at 12pm. Refuel at the Heide cafe or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the gardens before a visit to the Heide Museum.
Please note that museum entry is not included, and individual bookings are required for each workshop session.
Important information to read before you book:
- Part of this event will take place at the river's edge and will involve some walking. Covered and comfortable shoes are essential.
- This is an outdoor event. Please come prepared for the weather with warm clothes, water bottle, sunscreen, sunhat, raincoat etc.
- If there are any changes to this event due to weather, we will be in touch via email no later than 12 hours prior to the event.
