Yalumba Rare & Fine Collection and Distinguished Sites Virtual Masterclass

Event description

After a successful virtual tasting last year, we are excited to have Jessica Hill-Smith return for another wonderful masterclass!

Yalumba has been a fiercely independent, family owned winemaker since 1849, showcasing the best of the Barossa. For six generations they have embraced the magnificent unknown, letting the land lead the way, and growing their vines with as little interference as possible.

The winery has always strived to innovate and reduce their impact on the environment. They have the largest solar system in any Australian winery, and have won 43 accolades for our sustainable practices over the years. They want to make sure that future generations will continue to make great wine with minimal intervention, for many decades to come.

Jessica Hill-Smith, generational descendent of Yalumba's founder Samuel Smith, was destined to be involved in the family business. With the winery as a giant playground for Jessica and her two sisters, she spent the weekends roaming the winery, offices and vineyards. While never sure what her future might hold, there was no denying the intrinsic value of growing up in the vineyard played in determining her path into the family business.
