Description

Hot on the heels of our first sell-out Winter Warmer of 2026, NSO (formerly FSO) are pleased to present our second in this ever-popular concert series, 'Yankee Doodles'.

Settle in and let us take you on a musical journey across America, exploring the rich soundscape shaped by some of the nation's most celebrated composers. From toe-tapping dances and sparkling jazz to sweeping landscapes and moments of quiet reflection, Yankee Doodles celebrates the many colours of American music.

Conducted by David Pye, we will be performing in our rehearsal venue, John Leckie Pavilion, with tables arranged for a relaxed atmosphere. Always a well-attended and favourite event in our concert calendar, the NSO warmly welcomes you to bring along your own food and drinks and enjoy the music up close

We are excited to welcome back the esteemed pianist Yoon Sen Lee to perform Gerswin's Rhapsody in Blue; a highlight not to be missed!

Program

BERNSTEIN | Candide Overture
BARBER | Adagio for strings
GROFÉ | Grand Canyon Suite - On the Trail
Gershwin | Rhapsody in Blue
Copland | Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo
