On Monday 24 August, the stunning Sun Theatre (The Grand) will be transformed into an intimate live music space for the Yarraville Social Hall Fundraiser, an evening that celebrates local creativity, collaboration, and community.

At the centre of the night is something truly special: the Inner West Symphony Orchestra (IWSO) string section performing original works by local songwriters and composers, alongside the artists themselves. From high school students to retirees, the lineup represents a rich cross-section of Melbourne’s west, showcasing stories and sounds that are deeply personal, diverse, and uniquely local.

This is more than just a gig. It’s a rare opportunity to witness brand new music brought to life in a cinematic setting, where orchestral textures meet contemporary songwriting in an intimate, powerful format.

All proceeds from the evening will go towards purchasing a high-quality, versatile PA system that can support the Yarraville Social Hall community music initiative, as well as activate public spaces and local businesses to become music venues.
