Year 10 Mother/Friend and Son Breakfast 2025
Event description
The Parents' Association warmly invites Year 10 students and their Mother/Friend to this event.
We are delighted to have Dr Vash Singh as our guest speaker. Dr Singh is a psychiatrist, innovator, and mother, best known for her work at the forefront of eating disorder treatment in Australia. As the Founder and Medical Director of the Esus Centre - Australia’s first integrated day hospital for eating disorders - Dr Singh leads a multidisciplinary team delivering intensive, recovery-focused care that challenges the idea that these conditions must be lifelong. Vash completed her undergraduate degree in South Africa before immigrating to Australia 25 years ago. She completed her specialist training in psychiatry in Melbourne while raising two young children. Becoming a mother during this time taught her some of the most profound lessons in empathy, patience, and perspective - and ultimately made her a better doctor, more attuned not only to the struggles of her patients but also to the hopes and fears of their families. She is a national voice on mental health, often called upon to speak on the importance of early intervention, systems reform, and the power of lived experience in shaping better outcomes.
Outside of her clinical work, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Healthcare Leadership at the University of Oxford and is a passionate advocate for innovation in youth mental health.
Dr Singh believes deeply in the potential of young people to recover, lead, and contribute meaningfully to the world.
