We are so excited to be welcoming the amazing Sander Nooij, from acclaimed restaurant Yellow, to takeover the Refettorio kitchen, for a special ‘Guest Chef at the Ref’ Dinner this December!
Dutch-born chef Sander Nooij grew up on a tiny island in Holland, where limited culinary exposure sparked a passion for exploration that led him through the hospitality industry and eventually to Sydney.
As longtime head chef of the acclaimed two-hatted Yellow, Sander has now acquired the restaurant with business partner Mark Hanover. Together, they're introducing their vision of botanical gastronomy - a refined approach that celebrates seasonal produce, heirloom vegetables, and intricate flavours beyond traditional plant-based labels, appealing to all diners.
Yellow's philosophy of "botanical gastronomy" celebrates seasonal produce through refined technique, fermentation, and relationships with regenerative farmers, evolving Yellow as one of Sydney's most distinctive dining experiences. This ethos will be celebrated in Nooij's unique four course menu, designed exclusively for this event, which will be curated using OzHarvest rescued ingredients.
This is your opportunity to have a feel-good fine dining experience and support your local community at the same time! Each ticket sold, allows Refettorio OzHarvest to serve those who need it most, a nourishing 3 course meal during our daytime service.
Tickets purchased in a single transaction will be considered one booking, and guests will be seated together.
To ensure that everyone gets access to Refettorio OzHarvest Sydney – bookings will be limited to 10 seats.
